Where do I come from?

Where do I come from?

I come from where the harakeke waves
it's crazy hairdo in the wind.

Where the pine tree’s spiky needles fall
on to the ground, swaying.

Where the cabbage tree stands as still as a statue
with a fantail tweeting at the top.

The hills in the distance look like waves
Curling over and over again.

Where the bellbird tweets a song
To scare away other birds.

Where people swim around
And surf in the sea on a hot day.
----------

I am learning to use personification in many sentences.

I am going well but I need a bit more help.

  1. Wow Ruby.
That is one fantastic poem that you wrote.
I can definitely tell that you are talking about the beach.
I think that you used great description because you made me feel
like I was there with you.
    Well done Ruby :)

  2. Our wee Ruby, love your confidence and descriptions. Lovely use of verbs and adjectives. Reminds me of the time we had together at the beach yesterday. The waves are like a hairdo, changing and often messy especially early in the morning. Well done Ruby, you are learning about personification in sentences and your learning will only continue to spiral like waves. Love Mummy and Daddy xoxoxo
